V-Max Transportation, Inc. – O/O Interview

From 3 to 38, Passion and Trucking

It was said “If you are going to get into the trucking industry today, you have to have passion; Love being gone, love traveling and love visiting different parts of our great nation.”

What started in 2000, V-Max Transportation out of Zeeland, MI has come a long way. Owner of this multifaceted company, Dave Van Haitsma talks of trucking then and now, how he obtains quality drivers and what made them decide not to sell their 1995 Kenworth W900 show truck pre-restoration. Dave lives by “At the end of the day, I’m not a business owner, I’m a truck driver. That’s what I am, that’s what my core is, that’s what I love.”

What makes this 1995 Kenworth so special? 12 Gauge air front suspension, 12 gauge vertical lift bumper, Lincoln Chrome exhaust and fenders from Badass Fenders is just the icing on the cake when it comes to why this W900 is a site to see. Check out this video for the entire interview and an up close and personal look at the result of the hard work it took to do a ground up restoration on this truck. Take a “ride” with Dave and Big Rig Videos with a brief history of how Dave came into trucking, how he obtained his first customer and why it is important to the company to hire a driver first then to buy the driver a truck.
