Justin and Savannah Roberts of Chrome Shack show us their 1971 little window Peterbilt built with a Big Cam 400 Cummins, aluminum frame, custom narrow hood, and a look designed to prove one thing: chrome looks good on anything. What started as a simple cleanup project turned into a unique show truck and rolling display for the Chrome Shack. The original 1971 cab paint inspired the entire build, with the hood, fenders, and beverage trailer paint-matched and weathered to look like they’ve always belonged together. The truck was cut down from a tandem to a single axle, finished with a slick black frame, and paired with a practical display trailer that makes setup at truck shows quick and easy. The Chrome Shack is located off Exit 8 on Interstate 81 in Tennessee and has been serving truckers since 1998. Justin and Savannah purchased the business in January 2025 and continue to offer chrome accessories and truck parts.
